Every now and then it is worth taking time to see the effect that the HWLT-WMI service provides to landowners through the provision of advice and summer events:
One such landowner who acknowledges this support includes Mrs E. Moore, who emailed to thank us:
Dear Dawn,
Thank you for the useful WMI site assessment report for our meadows and smallholding, which will support a future application to Environmental Stewardship. It was comforting to know who to contact to undertake the survey as you are a local familiar face. It must be key to the High Weald Landscape Trust and also the natural area that you have so much local knowledge, built up over years of contact with owners and their land.

In addition we would like also like to praise the WMI Landowner Guided Walk which took place on the 3rd June with Dawn and Keith at Rocks/Bunces Farm. We as keen landowner have attended many past walks - but this was one of the best for me! We saw such a variety of species rich grassland, from traditional meadows through to those undergoing enhancement and learnt so much. Particularly interesting was the explanation as to why things don't always work out as planned. The last field was a good example where the meadow was 'getting away' and the event leaders deftly outlined the management options that where available. Sincere thanks.
